Amy Zambrano
Wellness Coach, Long Branch Public Schools Founder of “Amy’s
Yogabilities LLC”
Amy Zambrano is a yogi on a mission, bringing yoga to all ages and
all abilities. She is the founder of “Amy’s Yogabilities LLC” and is
the “Wellness Coach" for the Long Branch Public School District.
Amy’s holistic approach to well being focuses on empowering the mind,
body, and breath with physical and mental strength, balance and
flexibility. Amy inspires her students to reach their full potential
and incorporate yoga on and off the mat and into their everyday life!
Amy has over 1000 hours of yoga teacher training along with attending
Rosemont College, Villanova University and Rutgers University and has
traveled all over the world to deepen and enhance her teaching
practice to support her students. With over 14 years of teaching
experience, Amy has pioneered yoga in education by infusing yoga
movement, meditation, mindfulness, music, art, essential oils, social
emotional learning and other holistic wellness practices that benefit
students and staff to achieve academic, professional and personal success.
As the Long Branch Public School’s Wellness Coach, she works with
all grade levels from pre-school to high school, including the special
education department, athletes, staff, and administrators. Amy hosts
the “Weekly Wellness Wednesday Zoom” show, where Green Wave students
and staff tune in every week for connection and community. Because of
love for Villanova Basketball, she created the district wide, “March
Madness Mindfulness Challenge” where students compete with Social
Emotional Learning Competencies as a friendly competition. Amy is a
member of the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee, and teaches at
the district’s after school Steam Program. As a proud Green Wave alum,
it has been a dream come true for Amy to share her passion with the
Long Branch Public School District.
Amy has been a presenter at the Coalition of Schools Educating
Mindfully Conference, NJAHPERD Conventions, Peekapak SEL Summits,
Wakelet Community Week Conference and was a virtual presenter for the
New Jersey Department of Education’s Digital Professional Learning
Series. Amy has been featured in the spring 2019 “Goddess” issue of NY
Yoga +Life Magazine, entitled: “A Day in the Life: Working in Wellness
with Amy Zambrano”, along with sharing her Yogic expertise as a Guest
Blogger for the companies: K-Deer and Plymouth Rock.
As a former Daisy, Brownie and Girl Scout, Amy learned early on the
importance of giving back to her community. She began volunteering for
St. Luke’s Church during High School as a member of the Rotary
Interact Club. For the past 20 years she has helped with the annual
holiday dinners, along with delivering meals to people in need. In
college she participated in service trips with Habitat for Humanity by
rebuilding homes in New Orleans, and volunteering at an orphanage in
the Dominican Republic. Amy has volunteered her yoga services for the
annual Autism Speaks event, Girl Scouts Troops, Coastal Communities
Family Success Center, Special Olympics & Ronald McDonald Walk for
Kids. Amy was the recipient of the 2015 Rotary Community Service
Volunteer Award and in 2016 Amy was chosen as #80 in the “Shine: 100
Women Of Long Branch” photo exhibit gallery at the Long Branch Public
Library because of her commitment to bringing yoga to the Long Branch
community. She was also recognized as the “Plymouth Rock Teacher
Feature” in 2019.
In her spare time, Amy loves to travel. She has been to 30
countries, 35 states, and 6 continents. She loves watching Villanova
Basketball with her beagle Lilly, spending time in nature, going to
Bon Jovi concerts and taking dance and yoga classes. Known for her
smile and compassion to make a difference in the lives of her
students, Amy is passionate about sharing her love of yoga to leave a
positive impact on all she meets.
